Aspects of an egg donation agreement will include:
- That the recipients are the legal parents of any resulting child and that the egg donor will not have any financial or parental responsibilities.
- The selection of medical providers and the timing of the retrieval cycle.
- The financial responsibility of the recipients for routine medical expenses as well as their liability in the event of any medical complications.
- Any conduct restrictions or conduct expectations of the egg donor during the donation cycle.
- What can or can’t be done with any excess cryopreserved eggs and/or embryos.
- Expectations around future contact, for medical reasons or social reasons, including the child’s access to genetic information and genetic relatives.
- Any agreement regarding confidentiality and disclosure.
- The contract will also address reimbursement for expenses and compensation.
