Wendy Weilbacher is a passionate provisionally licensed attorney dedicated to guiding individuals and families through the complexities of reproductive and fertility law. Her practice focuses on surrogacy, sperm donation, embryo donation, egg donation, and adoption.
Wendy didn’t start her legal journey planning to specialize in fertility law. For 10 years, she and her husband battled infertility, enduring numerous IVF cycles and even undergoing a uterine reconstruction. After finally getting pregnant, they faced a devastating loss at 29 weeks gestation. With no other viable options for carrying a child, Wendy turned to surrogacy for results. Electing for two simultaneous surrogacy journeys with two separate gestational carriers. She became a proud mom having a boy and girl born just seven weeks apart. The kids are now 4. That transformative experience became the driving force behind her legal focus: helping others navigate the road to parenthood.
Before diving into law, Wendy’s first love was interior design and real estate. She earned her undergraduate degree from UC Davis in Environmental Design with a focus in Architecture. A real estate prodigy in the making, Wendy could explain adverse possession and easements before she could ride a bike. At 8 years old, her architectural renderings and design ideas defeated high school students in county wide competitions. She still owns and operates a thriving real estate business in Greater Seattle, WA. So if you search her name in google you’ll find lots of real estate results.
Wendy began her legal studies at Monterey College of Law in Monterey, CA, where she was elected Student Body President and Student Representative to the University Board of Trustees. In 2010, she transferred to Humphrey’s Lawrence Drivon School of Law in Stockton, CA—drawn by the opportunity to begin practicing as a certified law student and afford to flip local real estate while attending classes. While there, she handled criminal defense cases in San Joaquin County’s Drug Courts under Judge Vlavianos. She ranked top of her class in Contracts, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Real Property. She provided pro bono legal services through the school’s community law program and was invited to join the esteemed American Inns of Court from 2011 to 2013.
Wendy’s passion for helping others has been the common thread throughout her career. She brings a unique combination of legal expertise, personal experience, and entrepreneurial savvy to everything she does.
Wendy lives outside Woodinville, WA with her husband (a software engineer specializing in artificial intelligence), their kids, a golden retriever, and a grove of apple trees. When she’s not working with fertility law clients or running her real estate business, you’ll find her designing interiors, exploring the Pacific Northwest, or advocating for reproductive access through medical insurance and employer benefits with the University of Washington.”
